“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”Matthew 5:7-16 “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all…”

An active and energetic church in the community, St Philip's, supports the Episcopal Relief and Developement (ERD), Everett Gospel Mission, Pregnancy Resource Center, Matthew House, Marysville Food Bank, MOPS , and presents Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Baskets to the less fortunate. St Philip's is also active in supporting Esther Miller and Nancy Hesch Missionaries and a child through Compassion International.
ERD provides emergency assistance in times of disaster; rebuilds devastated communities and offers long-term program development solutions to fight poverty.
We have a reputation of having generous people at St. Philip's and I urge all of you to dig down & help to fill the food carts to overflowing. As you are shopping remember those who are in need, and something extra into your basket to help those who are less fortunate. Baby products, paper product and pet food are also welcome additions to our food carts.
Some things to keep in mind. No opened or outdated packages or perishables are accepted. Often some things come that are not edible and must be sorted and disposed of before they are delivered to the bank. The recipients of this food need quality as well as quantity.
It is amazing how time flies. It will soon be time to prepare the food baskets for Christmas .
St. Philip’s congregation is very generous throughout the year with their monthly donations of food. At this time of year, you are asked again to dig deep to help those less fortunate.

A "little house with a big heart" The heart of Christ to the forgotten victims, ~ women and children of prisoners
Matthew House is an organization dedicated to assisting the families of people incarcerated in Washington's prisons. When a man is convicted of a crime and sentence to prison, society often breathes a sigh of relief and says "good riddance." Left behind, though, are the wives and children. They are left to face increased responsibilities on reduced incomes. They are often abandoned by family for being married to a prisoner. Children are relentlessly teased at school for having a dad in prison. These are the lonely, forgotten, lives in the criminal justice system.
Matthew House exists to support these families with a clothing closet, a food pantry, shelter in our three apartments, transportation to the prisons through out the State, childcare and adult counseling. Studies prove that inmates who are locked up and forgotten are likely to re-offend when they are released. But those who receive visits and are released to supportive families have a much better chance of living a crime free life.
Matthew House is a private non-profit organization that receives periodic assistance from corporations and churches. But the majority of its budget comes from private citizens like you.
Matthew House programs do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed or national origin. Matthew House was founded on the Matthew 25:36 principle that: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."
The Simon of Cymene Society is a non-profit 501(c) (3) corporation in the state of Washington. It is named for Simon, the Cymene who helped a prisoner by the name of Jesus, carry his cross. All contributions are tax deductible
The Pregnancy Resource Center is a haven for pregnant women/girls who find themselves in a situation where they have needs with which they cannot cope. The resource center provides support in many ways. Counseling is available for such things as health issues, training on baby care & birth control. Supplies, such as clothing for infants from birth to 1 year, maternity clothes, some furniture items etc, are also available. The women, who use these services, earn dollars (points) with which they "buy" the items they need. If you would be interested in supporting this very important organization, or if you know someone who needs their help, you may call the PRC at 452-339-2175.
MOPS meets at St. Philips Church at 9:30 AM the first and third Thursday of each month.
